The Intro
JD Power gathers data from thousands of verified car owners to produces the most trusted and comprehensive car ratings in the industry. With thousands of data points for each vehicle, we needed to create site that highlighted this information in a rich and engaging way.
The Vision
To reimagine the JD Power brand in a way that created a consistent and sophisticated brand image. Emphasis was placed on creating a lasting initial impression that would increase user retention and page views, while incorporating a complex ad system.

Easy to understand specs
The car details page needed to show thousands of data points in a way that users would both understand and enjoy. We treated every section — from pricing to performance specs — as an opportunity for signature interactions to help make detailed car research a more delightful experience.

Promoting partner businesses is critical to J.D. Power’s success. Instead of designing around ads, we made them integral to the design system, showing relevant information while making sure that users could easily distinguish an ad from other content.

Power awards exemplary vehicles based on insights from real, verified owners in four distinct fields. Which is why we decided this was an opportunity to break the traditional ad restrictions in order to differentiate and make the page really stand out.

Comprehensive search.
J.D. Power’s comprehensive search allows the user to narrow down their options with their extensive collection of vehicle data ranging from MPG, minute interior details, to advanced engine specs.
Our goal was to provide a complex set of filtering options without confusing the user. Our testing showed the design had enough to be thorough without feeling overwhelming.
Brand & Type.
Manufacturer brand and type pages give the user alternate ways to explore and consume various types content. We don’t always know what we’re looking for, so we intermixed content in an organic way to encourage exploration.
